Svetovni dan medijev: Zaskrbljujoča ocena stanja medijske svobode v Sloveniji
Ob bližajočem se 3. maju, svetovnem dnevu medijev, je Združenje novinarjev in publicistov (ZNP) izdalo izjavo, ki izraža globoko zaskrbljenost nad stanjem medijske svobode v Sloveniji. Po mnenju združenja se slovenski medijski prostor sooča z vse večjimi pritiski politike in nevarnostjo monopolizacije.
ZNP opozarja, da je politični vpliv na medije v zadnjih dveh letih še posebej izrazit. Kot primer tega vpliva navajajo nedavne dogodke, povezane s portalom Siol.net, kjer je Telekom Slovenije, pod nadzorom vlade, zamenjal odgovornega urednika. Novi urednik je takoj po prevzemu funkcije umaknil prispevke, kritične do trenutne vlade in predsednika vlade. Takšni ukrepi vzbujajo skrb glede nadaljnjega zagotavljanja neodvisnosti medijev.
Poleg tega je bila sprejeta sprememba zakona o RTV Slovenija, ki po mnenju ZNP dodatno omogoča vladnemu prevzemu nadzora nad javno radiotelevizijo. Nova zakonodaja je omogočila, da je vlada v imenu civilne družbe prevzela upravljanje in hitro zamenjala vse ključne direktorje in urednike, kritične do vlade. ZNP poroča, da so bili nekateri novinarji, nepristranski do oblasti, degradirani in zamenjani z manj izkušenimi in vprašljivo verodostojnimi kolegi.
Opozarjajo tudi na težave z medijskim monopolom, ki ga vse bolj utrjuje poslovnež Martin Odlazek, kljub obstoječi protimonopolni zakonodaji. ZNP kritizira, da pristojni organi ne ukrepajo učinkovito proti takšnemu prevzemanju medijev.
V kontekstu političnih preiskav je ZNP izrazilo tudi zaskrbljenost nad praksami, kjer politične stranke zlorabljajo svoj vpliv za preiskovanje zasebnih podjetij in medijev, kar kaže na dvojna merila in možno politično motiviranost takih preiskav.
Združenje ob tej priložnosti poudarja svojo podporo vsem medijem, ki kljub težkemu okolju skušajo ohraniti pluralnost slovenskega medijskega prostora, pri čemer poskušajo nuditi uravnoteženo pokrivanje različnih mnenj in dogodkov.
Izjava v celoti
Politika se namreč vse bolj meša v delo medijev in ga skuša nadzorovati. Slednje je še posebej izrazito v zadnjih dveh letih. Med drugim je aktualna vlada najprej preko svojih nadzornikov v Telekomu Slovenije zamenjala odgovornega urednika portala Siol.net in ga nadomestila z urednikom, ki je že takoj po prevzemu funkcije izbrisal nekatere prispevke, ki so bili kritični do aktualne vlade in predsednika vlade.
Nadaljevalo se je s spremembami zakona o RTV Slovenija, kjer je vlada pod krinko civilne družbe prevzela nadzor nad upravljanjem javne rtv-hiše. Novo vodstvo, imenovano po meri vlade, je takoj zamenjalo vse ključne direktorje in urednike in se zneslo tudi nad novinarji, za katere je menilo, da niso naklonjeni aktualni oblasti. Mnoge izmed njih je kljub dolgoletnim izkušnjam in primerni izobrazbi degradiralo na raven novinarjev začetnikov, njihove naloge pa so med drugim prevzeli novinarji brez ustrezne izobrazbe in s vprašljivo verodostojnostjo.
Hkrati se je vladajoča oblast spravila nad medije, ki skušajo v že tako enostransko prevladujočem levo orientiranem medijskem prostoru predstavljati drugo plat medalje. Na slednje se je vlada spravila s preiskovalno komisijo, ki se je mimo pooblastil, ki ji jih daje zakon, dokopala celo do seznama naročnikov enega od opozicijskih medijev, in ki skuša z različnimi vzvodi ustrahovati njegove oglaševalce. Pri tem je zanimivo, da se podpredsednici največje vladne stranke in predsednici DZ Urški Klakočar Zupančič zdi sporno, da bi preiskovalna komisija, ki jo je zahteval državni svet, preiskovala poslovanje državnega podjetja Gen-i, ne zdi pa se ji sporno, da preiskovalna komisija, ki jo je zahtevala njena stranka, preiskuje poslovanje zasebnih podjetij in medijev. Različna merila vladajočih so pri tem v nebo vpijoča.
Ena od vse večjih težav slovenskega medijskega prostora je tudi vse večji monopol na področju tiskanih in drugih medijev, ki ga ob izigravanju protimonopolne zakonodaje v Sloveniji vzpostavlja Martin Odlazek. Ob tem pristojni organi ne storijo praktično nič, da bi se tovrstno nezakonito prevzemanje medijev enega za drugim s strani zgolj ene osebe končalo. Še več. Zdi se, da je pod to vlado tovrstno početje dobilo dodaten zagon.
V ZNP ob svetovnem dnevu svobode medijev čestitamo vsem medijem, ki skušajo v večinoma enostranskem slovenskem medijskem prostoru zagotavljati njegovo pluralnost ter prikazovati tudi drugo plat mnenj in dogodkov.
